I met with Wendy and Ryan last spring when they told me their wedding day plan and I was swept away. The two of them planned to head up north with their pup and an officiant, hike some beautiful trails in their wedding day finest with a few passing hikers to witness as they married… now, if that isn’t romantic, I don’t know what is!
They planned a wonderful reception to celebrate with friends and family this fall and invited me to come too. I loved the flowers, the food, the yard games and the band! Everything was simple and easy just as they envisioned many months before. They camped near by… and ended the night with a cozy bonfire under an orange harvest moon.
Chris has been a friend of my husband since childhood, and he stood up in our wedding 7 years ago. So naturally I’ve grown rather fond of the guy myself… not to mention how much our girls adore him! Kari and Chris have been dating for a number of years, and as I’ve gotten know to Kari, we just clicked. On all those Badger Saturdays and nights out with Chris and Scot and all of the their friends, she and I were always together standing on the sidelines shaking our heads at the crazy antics our guys were up to… We may or maynot have created our own crazy because after all… if you can’t beat em – you might as well join em! Right Kari? Kari is also a super talented photographer and if you book me for a wedding you might be lucky enough to have her come along too!
Of course, I was thrilled to get the chance to photograph their special day and oh so grateful when they moved a few dates around to work with my busy wedding schedule. (Thrilled and a little nervous, talk about pressure when photographing a friend’s wedding AND a photographer’s wedding.) All was A-Ok until our third child, August, decided to be a little stinker and show up a week late… three weeks before Chris and Kari’s wedding! Talk about a close call!! But alas, all was was well. My in-laws hung with our little guy while Scot stood up with the guys and I took photo’s with my super talented other second photographer, Courtney. So little August has already been to his first wedding and he was such a little trooper.
Kari chose the perfect details and styled her day perfectly… well, I should say Kari and her awesome team AKA her Mom and her sister! I must say that Kari was stunning and the moment Chris saw Kari for the first time will be a moment that I won’t forget for a very long time.
Here are just a few of my favorite images from their day…

Tim and Lindsey are an amazing couple so very calm, cool and collected on the day of their wedding too! I was so excited for their wedding day after taking their engagement photo’s that we had a similar vision and that it was going to be a fun group to work with. PLUS, now know how it feels to photography Ken and Barbie. Honestly, I don’t think a couple can get much more attractive then these two!
I was so glad to have Courtney, my second photographer, along to grab some of the amazing details… check out that shoe shot, I work with some talented people, ya’ll!
Oh my gosh was her dress stunning!
Couldn’t resist this photo of Tim getting a feel for his new ring just a few moments after he said, ‘I do’…
Lindsey, you are stunning.

I was lucky enough to be asked to photograph this super fun event for the St. Paul University Catholic Center on the UW campus. The event was a fundraiser to help build a new building to replace the existing building and location at the bottom of State Street. You can learn more about the grand plans they have here. It looks like an amazing project and I can’t wait to see work begin.
I had so much fun and am very much looking forward to next year! If you would like to see more images from the gallery, feel free to download images straight to your computer or contact Caroline with more questions.
