Madison Ballet celebrated another amazing year performing the Nutcracker (there is still a Christmas Eve performance you could still catch!). Along with the stunning performances they also hosted a beautiful brunch at the Madison Concourse Hotel. Imagine eating an amazing breakfast of prime rib, bacon, eggs, pastries all while mingling with Clara herself! Sign this photographer up… oh AND I can bring my ballet obsessed girls! How in the name of pink tights did I get such an amazing opportunity?!
The cast of the Nutcracker signed posters, posed for photo’s, help create custom cookies, make crafts and color pictures with their fans of all ages. Fun was had by all, my girls were mesmorized by the lovely costumes and sweet attention and couldn’t stop talking about this amazing morning.
Please click on this link, download and print all the fun photo’s you wish! I had so much fun and I can’t wait to come back again!
Check out these sweet cupcakes from Gigi’s Cupcakes! My girls had three… each… (that’s what happens when Mom’s working)
Oh and the glittering tattoo’s from Scooops Kid Salon a complete hit.
Devin and Nick’s wedding was set on a perfect fall day in October. I met Devin and Nick at the Madison Marriot West where they were getting ready and having their ceremony right in the lobby of this amazing hotel. I loved the modern vibe of this hotel the second I walked in and was so excited that Devin and Nick trusted me to just go wild with ideas for their photo’s. I really had fun, experimenting with this location and space.
Right after the ceremony the wedding party headed over to the Claddagh the very place were this couple met and their love story began… a story told perfectly by Kelly, Devin’s sister, at the reception. #bestmaidofhonortoastoftheyear #laugingsoharditwashardtofocusmycamera
Enjoy a few of my favorites!
Loved meeting Hayley and her Mom at the Janesville Bridal Show and was very excited to make some photography magic with this killer sunset! Did we luck out or what?!? Matt and Hayley met many moons ago on the Janesville water ski team so goofing around and having fun… yeah they have that down pat. It was way too hard to choose favorites from this session!
I’ve known Latoya my whole darn life… we were cheerleaders together waaaayyy back in the day…eherrrm… I have been lucky enough document lots of important movements of their lives together as well! I took Dave & Latoya’s engagement photos a few years back but was too pregnant to be her wedding photographer. (I did make sure to get a few fun shots as a guest though!) So yeah, I was pretty excited to meet their sweet new baby.
August (my new photography assistant) and I packed up all my camera gear and headed over to meet sweet Uriah for the first of many play dates they will surely have together in the years ahead. Walking into the home of brand new parents and a brand new baby is like walking into a new and magical universe. Honestly, it’s magic… I love soaking up all that sweet, fresh energy of a newly created family. (I love my job…) These two parents were as cool and calm as they get. They moved so naturally around each other and Uriah. So we chatted and laughed. They filled me in on Uriah’s crazy entrance into this world, one thing is for sure, his Momma is strong and powerful! What a lucky boy, indeed!
I got to marvel at their new son for a few hours capturing this very special time that lasts only for a few short days…(Have I mentioned how much I adore my job!)
Oh and I just had to end this newborn story with a photo of Dave cooking up a yummy breakfast for Latoya as I left… Dad’s play such an important role for new Momma’s and Dave seemed to know just what it was… diapers and food!
I can’t thank you both enough for sharing this special time with me & August too!
Fawn & David’s wedding was scheduled on a lovely fall day at Janesville’s Rotary Gardens. Fawn had perfect fall bouquets, the leaves on the trees were changing vibrant colors, everything was ideal for a perfect outdoor fall wedding… and then the rain came… and not just a light drizzle, we are talking a full on down pour! But this slight little hiccup didn’t get in the way for Fawn and David. Fawn’s Mom and her dear friend did a ‘go away’ rain dance, their boys splashed around in the down pour and yet Fawn and David… cool as a cucumber! Nerves of steel for sure! Then again they are parents to three wonderful boys, Zeke, Colton & sweet little Montgomery so they have had plenty of practice rolling with the punches, I’d say.
And wouldn’t you know that we had a clearing of rain for a solid hour and the show went on… mud and all! Little Monty was not a happy camper without his Momma. It was such a sweet moment when Fawn stopped the ceremony and held her little guy and he settled down right away. His little toes hanging out during their exchange of the rings was priceless. In fact, Monty was a part of all major moments of the day including the first dance… and many more dances throughout the night. This group was a blast and I even took a few whirls around the dance floor myself.
A beautiful day with a beautiful family!
I was pretty
excited nervous when Meghan and Ryan wanted to do some studio portraits of their family. I’m not one for overly posed placements so getting everyone relaxed and having fun in my small studio was going to take some thought. Then BAM, it hit me… add the blue flower beast of a couch we have for client meetings… yes, it was a stroke of brilliance if I do say so myself. After some chill time in studio we had just few moments to take a couple of photo’s near this sweet patch of red sumac I’d been eyeing up before the rain came in. Even with the cold those colors made for a perfect fall backdrop.
The girls were so full of energy, Alice sure knows how to dish out some sisterly love! Thanks for rolling with my ideas ya’ll.
I met with Wendy and Ryan last spring when they told me their wedding day plan and I was swept away. The two of them planned to head up north with their pup and an officiant, hike some beautiful trails in their wedding day finest with a few passing hikers to witness as they married… now, if that isn’t romantic, I don’t know what is!
They planned a wonderful reception to celebrate with friends and family this fall and invited me to come too. I loved the flowers, the food, the yard games and the band! Everything was simple and easy just as they envisioned many months before. They camped near by… and ended the night with a cozy bonfire under an orange harvest moon.
What a pleasure it was to hang with Chris, Tiffani and their sweet girls. These two little ones were filled with tons of energy and I was glad to have the chance play and collect sticks with Ms. Evie. Oh and watch out for Ms. Cadence she knows how to strike a pose on a dime!
Everything about Stephanie and Aaron’s wedding is the stuff us photographers dream about. Perfect summer weather, beautiful locations, relaxed wedding party and lots and lots of time for photos… I’ve said it before but it’s worth repeating, I love my clients!
Stephanie found The Apple Tree Lane Bed & Breakfast doing an online search and holy smokes was it beautiful. The ceremony location is breath taking and made Stephanie and Aaron’s wedding simply magical. I really, really hope I get the chance to come back again someday soon. Talk about photography gold! But, more than that, this was an amazing group of people and I was honored to be welcomed among them to tell their story.
Stephanie choose Abundance Acres from Madison to put their flowers together. Of course they were nothing short of perfection.
Stephanie, you are a my kindred spirt! And you will always hold a special place in my heart, you are amazing and strong and kind… and I’m sorta sad that your wedding is over. Good news is we live in the same town!
Monique… you are a doll!
